Deckers Brands and Brighten Solar Co choose Fish Reef Project as their corporate social responsibility

The Goleta and Santa Barbara business community gathered in January to celebrate Deckers Brands headquarters in Goleta switching on one of the area’s largest commercial solar projects.

Deckers Brands and Brighten launched a Corporate Solar Program for employees at the event to help motivate Deckers’ employees to install solar on their homes. Deckers has offered a contribution to each employee’s project cost and Brighten Solar will donate to a nonprofit partner on the employees’ behalf. Deckers has chosen The Fish Reef Project, a local marine conservation effort to restore Goleta’s coastal kelp beds.

“We are so excited to give Deckers employees an opportunity to double their impact with this program. Many of them are surfers and divers, so supporting the Fish Reef Project will help preserve the coastlines they enjoy every day.” -Lauren Coiro, Community Outreach Coordinator for Brighten Solar Co.

Deckers partnered with Brighten Solar Co to install over 1,200 solar panels on their headquarters rooftop.  Brighten Solar serves California’s Central Coast with the latest technology in home or business solar projects. Deckers Brands is a footwear company with Fashion & Performance Lifestyle Shoe Brands, including Ugg, Sanuk & Teva. “Deckers Brands gives people the freedom to do what matters most to them, the freedom to be who they want to be. To follow their passions. To be their best selves.”
